my mix gives me a dark brown with ...Posted by Kim in MI on January 23, 2005 at 15:11:50: In reply to: Can I Get BROWN Hair, not Red or Black???? posted by ms8miranda on January 23, 2005 at 12:33:47: I am also covering gray. I tried coffee & black walnut and they did not do much to thehenna ... but then I started using indigo, about 50/50 with the henna. I mixed them separately ~ the henna sat overnight, the indigo mixed with hot water just before applying, then mixed the two together before applying. I left it on about 2.5 hours I think. It started out a dark brown, closer to "ash brown" than auburn in inside lighting, but a dark auburn in the sun. Over a month the indigo seemed to fade somewhat, so that in the end it is a cool dark auburn color. The grays covered to a lighter medium brown, not too brassy. My pic is in the mixes under Kim A. - scroll down to see the color I got with the 50/ 50, it's at the end of the blurb ... I have been reading that people get good *cool* browns with henna/indigo/amla mix but I have not personally tried that ... yet? :-) Kim : I need to make something good enough to cover lots of gray but I : don't really want red hair or black hair but brown hair. Is there : anything I can use to get brown hair?
