I think the sweat is part of it, because of the ammonia in the sweat.The lawsone molecules are nestling in the scales of your hair shaft,
and I bet the sweat/ammonia dislodges some of them. I honestly don't
know what might stop it, though.

One of my projects next weekend is to make a diagram of hair, so you
can see precisely where the henna molecules are parking and why the
color does what it does....
