: - )Posted by lisa on January 25, 2005 at 05:50:08: Well...its done. And I'm thrilled. I was such a drama queen baby.Perhaps negative reaction from friends re: my plans to henna did not help. So many people, so many horror stories about the orange and the green. Goodness...I was starting to feel very Irish about it all. I'm happy to report that my hair is looking very very good. Just a little bit too bright and just a tiny bit orange...but you know...I'm already loving it and the shine is incredible. I'm hoping that the colour will darken a little over the next two days and if this is the case...happy days. What I might do is still use the coffee but reduce by one tablespoon and increase indigo by one tablespoon. That way I'll be able to guage ratios...I just keep playing around with them until I get it right. Just a few last questions (and thanks so much to those people that have responded). 1. Is is true that continued use of indigo + henna may produce a build up - especially of the indigo. 2. Is it really worthwhile vinegar rinsing prior to using henna. I understand that this procedure might help hold the indigo. 3. How come more of us don't know about this marvellous stuff. There are so many myths out there about how risky henna is....everyone has a story. Talk about paranoid. Thanks so much for responses and especially for this wonderful site. Regards Lisa in Australia PS: I meant to say that we are sweltering here in Australia at 37 degrees .... I think that translates to about 85 - 90 degrees Farenheit. Phew...Henna really set well.
