The Body Shop Henna

Hello I used the Body Shops henna in Copper last June thinking it
was pure henna but and this is the biggie when I did a strand test
with real pure hena a few months later it went charcoal black to my
horror.They deny there is any metallic salts in the product but
there is obviuosly something because my strand tests are still going
black though not as dark as before.
Does anybody know what is in this stuff or how I can hurry up and
get it out of my hair which has been brittle and drier since I used
it. Thanks
