My hair is about the same color as hers now just not as full and curly. People mentioned below that indigo releases in 15-20 minutes and expires after an hour or so, so any extra time on your head is mostly for the henna. I think the heat would just make it absorbed into your hair faster and deeper. Now I use less indigo so my hair doesn't get too dark. Kim's mix page saved me a lot of steps by going right for the 50/50 mix to get the highlights blended rather than stepping it up a little at a time. Thank you Kim for writing your process up. I don't think you can go completely black with a mix of henna and indigo, the risk is more if you do the indigo as a second step process.
