Hi everybody. This is my first post, although I do lurk quite a
bit. There is a wealth of info here. I am hennaing for the second
time tonight. My hair has been dyed various shades of red for
several years now, but my natural color is a dark brown. It does get
auburn highlights naturally in the sun, though. I used henna for the
first time about three weeks ago. I'm pleased with the result, but
there was still a difference between the inch or so of roots and the
colored hair. The line between roots and the rest wasn't quite as
sharp, though. I decided to try using allspice in my mix to lessen
the distinction between the two. I used 50 grams of Catherine's
henna, lemon juice, a bit of water, two tablespoons jamaican allspice
( any different than regular allspice? ) and some honey. It's been
on for two hours now. I'm rinsing in a couple more. I can already
tell this henna is going to come out a bit different, because the
color of the mix is noticeably darker. Wish me luck. I'll post
again on how it turns out.
Carole
