Eclipta Alba..Darkens Hair??

I have been checking around trying to find an herb that will give
more brown and I keep seeing Eclipta Alba as one that has been used
for darkening. I Googled Eclipta Alba Hair and came up with quite a
bit. I see this is for sale at sandmoutainherbs.com and is mentioned
that it is used for hair darkening. I am curious if this herb is
safe and if anyone has tried it to darken before. I am thinking of
getting some to try a strand test with but wanted to check in here
for Catherine's thoughts on the matter.
