I then let this set for 12 hours. My house temp is 69 to 70 degrees. The mix is about 2 to 1. I mix 2 cups of henna with the lemon juice and I mix 1/2 to 3/4 cups of amla with hot, not boiling, water. The amla generated is 1 cup when it is mixed up. I stir in about 1 cup of fructose to make the paste stringy and smooth just before applying. I apply this like you would plain henna and leave it on for 6 hours. I do not shampoo, but I do use lots of conditioner. I shampoo the next day. Your may want to experiment with the ratio of henna to amla, but I would not go any further than 2:1. I hope this helps.
