Nirvana Black Walnut Shampoo - How do I diminish red tones?

I have natural red/orange hair and have been successfully dying my
hair a dark brown / black with black light mountain color the grey. I
have never been a fan of my red hair and have died it my entire life.
This being the case, I deicided to try to go natural. After trying
multiple mixes I stumbled upon light mountain color the grey. This
works great, my hair is amazing... getting the color to stay is the
problem. I'm to the point now where I don't even shampoo my hair,
surprisingly even after two weeks my hair doesn't have that greasy
fealing, which I cannot stand! However, the color still fades very badly.

I have seen Black Walnut Shampoo, has anyone ever used this? Does it
work? Is it natural?

Has anyone else had any successes of keeping their dark hair from
fading to red tones?

I've even thought of trying to devise my own type of shampoo w/
indigo... doing this every morning in the shower would maybe work!

Thank you in advanced for your suggestions!
