ahhh, youth ...Posted by Kim in MI on February 2, 2005 at 15:25:49: In reply to: how to reverse henna? help! :'( posted by Anya L on February 1, 2005 at 09:18:10: When I was 17 I had dark brown hair on the sides and bright bleached yellow-whiteon the top, sort of like a skunk. When I tired of that (years) I tried to cover it with a temporary brown-black dye and it turned gray-green! Lovely! Anyway, my guess is that your best bet for more-boring is to try to get your color to a more boring cool auburn/brown ... you can't easily take henna OUT ... although there was a woman here who did it, with successive trips to the hairdresser to use a 'citrus stripper' of some sort ... it wasn't cheap or quick, according to her. Anyway, a mix of 50/50 henna and indigo - mixed separately but applied together - will give you a deeper, cooler color, like a dark auburn, which will be less stand-out shocking than henna sometimes is. I hear good news about amla turning henna brown, but haven't used it myself. What color were you before? I don't have anything to suggest to go back to a blonde or light brown, unfortunately. kim : Hello all who bothered to read this! Thank you very much. : : Okay, here we go. I am now a red-headed 16 year old teenage girl who : once was desparate to stand out, and used henna, but is now : DESPARATE for her boring hair color back. : : Please, please, PLEASE help. : : Truly yours, : the everregretful redhead
