I would have said that I think kelp has a pectin like substance. I
know carageen is a type of seaweed and is used to thicken stuff. But
then when you mentioned salt - well perhaps this is the best solution
yet, a double whammy! I imagine it has some low level of fructose too,
like any vegi. And I know kelp is full of nutrients that's good for
your hair, it's in all sorts of conditioning masks and stuff, so it
can't hurt.

As for the black stuff, tell me more! Is it a complete clean up mess,
as I imagine? What's it called? And is it a ppd based dye - I dunno
what kind of response you'd get for that on this board! ;-)
