Is henna safe for use during pregnancy?

Greetings.

I am really excited to try henna, however, I'm 23 weeks pregnant. Does
anyone know if henna is considered safe? I know that some herbs can be
absorbed through the skin and be potentially harmful, but I can't seem to get a
definite answer about henna.
