I cannot speak about perms and henna other than that if the henna
has metals in it, it may make your hair actually smoke. The person
who trims my hair told me about this happening. She also told me
that in the 70's, people with hennaed hair would come in for perms
and the perm would not hold very well on already hennaed hair. It
would be wise to do a strand test first. My hair has a slight
natural wave to it, but with henna it is straight.
