How would one determine if : there were ppds in light natural mountain products for greying hair? I thought I would jump in here, since I just did a lot of investigating into the Light Mountain line. I finally got through to them by emailing: customersupport@internatural.com I will post below the response that I got from them. I was inquiring about Light Mountain and Nirvana shampoos: Thank you for your e-mail. Light Mountain Natural is a pure natural product made from the powered leaves of three plant species of the Lawsonia,Indigoferae and Cassia auriculata. These powdered leaves are expertly blended by trained staff. Our blends include different proportions of these three plants. The Lawsonia leaf offers the red shades , Indigoferae offers the dark shades and Cassia auriculata is for the conditioning effect. We do not claim our product is henna. It is one of the few completely natural, botanical hair color on the market. Our ingredients are 100% pure botanicals, straight from nature. Henna is red when it comes out of the ground so we need add these botanicals to obtain the colors we offer, not like the others who use PPD and other very dangerous chemicals, to acheive the differents colors. Just how permanent is the indigo ? Well we found that some find it to last 6-8 weeks and others feel it lasts for 6-8 months. Depending on each person the results are different . After many years there can be a build up of color for some people. Using coffee does help in the staining of darker shades its not neccessary. Lemon is used if you have light hair already, it helps to lighten already light hair. Now Nirvana does have some of Sodium Laureth Sulfate Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Glyceryl Sterate, Stearalkonium Chloride , in many of their products. I know these can be less than desirable , but the demand is tremendous for this line. I hope this helps you . Take care
