My Indigo mix...that worksPosted by Angela on March 10, 2004 at 12:07:21: Hi all,I have been researching Indigo because I have been wanting a reliable and safe dark hair dye. As opposed to Henna, which works best in an acidic mixture, Indigo works better in a more base mixture. In my last mix I used boiling water with my indigo to make a very thick paste. Let that cool down. Then add enough egg whites to make it workable. I left mine in for 2 hours. This works great; the egg whites make the indigo easy to rinse out and give the hair a lot of shine. And with the ph of about 8 egg white is on the high (more base) side of the spectrum. This works really well for me. Hope it helps
