ALL -natural shampooPosted by Rainbow-Vanessa on February 9, 2005 at 00:47:29: In reply to: Possible explanation for dry post-henna hair posted by Rainbow-Vanessa on February 9, 2005 at 00:24:37: As a follow up to this hair residue thing...Being on a natural hair dye web forum eventually rubs off! I've never particularly felt the calling to be a ganola/hemp/eco womyn, and I've never had any real chemical sensitivity, though I've known others who have. Natural is great, but I just didn't think about it very much. Well a few months ago the subject of natural shampoos came up, which thanks to my very inquisitive nature propmted an in depth internet and phone book scouring. I tend to take things a little to the extreme, so I really did my research and was upset to find that, unless I wanted to make my own shampoo and body care products, I could never find any that were 100% natural, without 1) petrochemials (from petrolium) or at least 2) oleochemials ( just as toxic chemicals derived from plant sources, usually coconut, through very unatural, nasty means - coconut = good / unnaturally chopped up coconut molecules mixed with other stuff = bad). I have looked at so many "natural" and "organic" websites, even mainstream stuff like Aubrey "organics" which I'd heard good reviews from, without being able to find something free of these. I know some of you are here because you have chemical sensitivities, or don't want to use chemicals in your hair, so perhaps you'll take a look at this website. I'm sure there are other places around the world that make as pure stuff as this, but I haven't found them yet, and I've looked hard, because I'm crazy and anal. So take my hours invested as a gift. Even if you don't want the products the site is SO informative! (like our very own here!) At least check out this page. It made weeding through ingredients labels so much easier! (the website homepage is www.terressentials.com) And don't worry, I'm not their monkey (only Cathernine's - hehe), I just think what they make is awsome, and supporting environmentally consious small scale operations is a great thing.
