depends on your hair I would think. personally when I used the
henna/indigo combo first, followed by just indigo I got a duller
brown and it faded and the color lifted with each shampoo. this time
I did it the other way around and it seems to be more permanent. but
in between, after the indigo and before the combo(I waited a day in
between)the results were a very dull gun-metal bluish/gray on my
medium brown hair...no red at all. Indigo will stop dye-ing after
about 2 hours, if you leave the combo on your head longer than I
would think it is the henna that keeps on working and you definitely
end up with red 'glints'.
for me indigo alone, after henna, killed the red glints and washed
out. but when I did it this time, indigo first followed by a
henna/indigo combo it gave me shiny deep brown(almost black) with red
glints(especially the grays). you will have to do a test on some of
your hairbrush gleanings.
