Leave on hair for 4-8 hours. I did this for 2 years and eventually it got to nearly black. But the initial time I did it and for about 6 months(every 4 weeks)it was a nice golden brown. I could have kept it golden brown if I just used it to touch up the roots and did a cassia mix every other month I think, but I wanted it to be black.
