: oh yeah I forgot to add--to rinse clipped ends in a paper cup--float
: them and stir them up and then pour it out on a coffee filter--do it
: a few times. coffee filters are so versatile!

If you scotch tape the ends together and always pinch the tape when
handling them they stay together pretty well. You can then rinse them
under the faucet, blow dry them, and get to see what they look like
all blended together up against your head. You can even sharpie a code
for the mix on the tape.

When I remember, I cut off locks just before a haircut just as long as
I expect to cut it for later testing. I take a few from the greyer
areas below my ears and a few from the top layer that gets the most
sun and wear. Between the two I get a fairly good idea what my latest
mix will do.
