I have been using a lot of citric acid in my henna mix and it doesn’t
do a thing to fade my mom’s pitch-black hair. Normal skin and hair
pH is slightly acidic so I wouldn’t worry about the amount of lemon
juice in the henna paste affecting your hair that much.

I have heard of the lemon juice and sunlight idea to bleach or
lighten hair color but I suspect it is really just the sunlight that
is doing the work. Has anyone tried soaking some hair in lemon juice
and comparing the hair color?
