Help with henna color...kinda burgundy...

Hello!

I have been using good bodyart quality henna on my hair for over a
year. My haircolor is medium brown with some gray, also with some
lighter/darker brown highlights and some reddish highlights (used to
be a light redhead when I was little) Henna is coming in at first a
beautiful dark red, but later develops into an unnatural burgundy
color which is really odd against my very fair skin. I absolutely LOVE
what henna does to my hair and it covers the gray great! But, I'd like
to know if there might be some additives or any suggestions for
tweaking the mix to get it to that beautiful dark red it originally
is. I usually leave it on for 2 hours. (no added heat) I usually mix
it with lemon juice and hot tea. Any help would be really appreciated
as I want to continue using henna. But this color is just too dark and
unnatural. <sigh>

Thanky,
Stevie
