I used to henna my hair when I was a teenager. I had ash blond hair,
that had lighter highlights. When I hennaed my hair (using crappy
henna) I got bright orange hair. I really didn't mind it at the
time, but I wouldn't want to have that now. I've been using Natural
Instincts Burmese Ruby to get a primary red - burgundy color. It
washes out in about 2 months and I'm left with a medium light brown-
auburn color. So I have several questions.

Even though this is a semi-permanent hair color that mostly rinses
out, can I use henna and how long should I wait from the last time I
colored with dye before using henna?

Which henna powder will give me a deeper red or burgundy tone? I
really don't want the orange - rust tones.

Do I mix it up like body art paste, perhaps with just lavender oil
for terp?

Am I right to assume that leaving it on longer and perhaps using it
repeatedly will give a darker color?

Thanks,
Erika
