trying to avoid orange or rust-colored hairPosted by Dagny on April 9, 2004 at 23:46:53: I have used a few different brands of henna in the past (Lush, LightMountain Henna, and one other brand from the health-food store) but the problem I always seem to have is the orange tones I get from the henna. My hair is naturally a light-med brown with copper shades that gets more copper if lightened. I am looking for more of a chestnut color (I'll even take Irish setter red, as opposed to Golden Retreiver Orange). I have just purchased some of Catherin's Henna and thought I'd get some recs on how to avoid those darned orange/brassy tones I had received from stale henna. Any recs on what to add to give the color I am seeking? Also, I am wondering if I were to leave the henna on longer, maybe it will go from orange to a deeper red-brown? Thanks!
