I got some cheap indigo at the: markets but I don't know what to make of it. What brand? There's one that I adore, but haven't been able to track down since my shop stopped carrying it. I've been through about 10 kinds of indigo ..... to the point that I can spot indigo that's not had this fermentation (or bacterial action, to be more precise) ..... slightly darker green, and adding water didn't get jack for dye release. What I"ve got here is still green powder, (lighter, greyer green) but there's been some fermenting/processing ....... so the dye release is KAPOW. I can smell the difference between the two more easily than I can see it..... What I have is certainly not to the "hard blue lump" end of the process.
