Colorig hair with henna for first time

I was wanting to use henna on my hair and have been researching
light mountain hennas. My hair is med to dark brown and want to
basically stick close to the same color but a little darker brown.
According to their color chart black henna is the one I shoud
use...does this sound right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
