One is do what I did, use other plants but the henna method (mix it
into mud, leave it on your head for an hour or two). Senna is highly
recommended and is usually what these "neutral hennas" are. Get to
know your botanical names and what the plants will do, avoid
chemicals; there are some nice ones out there. I used a couple of
different brands, and they included rosemary, quinquina, thyme,
nettle, birch, chamomile and so on.

The other idea is to do a "henna gloss" treatment, which involves
mixing a little henna in with conditioner. It's one of Fia's
creations. Go to the "Mixes" page, then "Fia's Mixes", it's on there.

Possibly you could also just henna and only leave it on for a short
time, say one hour. I wouldn't do this myself because I'm not a
redhead and terrified of colour change (thigh-length hair, so I have
to be careful), but if you're a natural redhead it might be ok.
Strand tests ahoy!
