: Purple is an indecently difficult tone to achieve with natural
dyes.
: The only one that would potentially work for hair would be a murex
: thing ... and ..... don't go there. Rare species since it got
: harvested near to extinction several times 2000 years ago and
: previous. There are some other shellfish species that will get you
: purple also if you've got the right bacteria to rot them properly.
: But .... even if you did have enough murexes, and the right bacteria
: ... if you did your hair with them you'd smell like rotting
shellfish.
: Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaasty.
:
: Maybe a woad rinse over the henna ...... maybe not.
:
: Logwood's not gonna be useful ... I think you'd have to boil your
head.
:
: The analine dyes ARE good for producing purples, I'll give them
that.

Hee hee! None of this sounds good! You know what? I'm beginning to
see the lesson in all of this...mother nature never intended for us
to have purple hair! It looks good on flowers and fruits but thats
about it...
Never mind. I am liking my orange more all the time...
