I'm waiting for my henna to arrive so: I can try another mix or two. There's just something so addicting : about the mixes I tell ya LOL Anyway... : Just had a thought..since the henna color will build up and deepen : with repeated applications..how might it look/work..if I did some : strands w/this remaining bit of mix (RW and apple cider vinegar) : THEN did the full thing with.......... whatever mix I decide on : then. Wanting to experiment w/some grape juice concentrate, not : fully diluted hoping to "up" that purpley hue ?? I've heard of : using beetsroot powder, but, I've not looked online for any...don't : think my funds would allow for any now anyway and well, it's been : said before...just can't fight the urge any longer! I must : henna!! : So anyhow...whatcha think? Do a few strands w/my leftover test mix : then rehenna the whole thing ? See how much streakage shows up? I : don't want anything crazy mind you..just perhaps some subtle : variances ... ya with me? Input? Further ideas/suggestions for a : dark brown haired gal to get burgundy/plum shades? : My henna time is nearing...I can feel it.... : : ~Tara~ Hi! I'm beginning to give up on my quest for a purpley red, as by all accounts (see down below at my thread, "stupid mix question", esp. Catherines post) its not really likely to happen with henna. Its red/orange, and that's okay, really. I did get some Logona herbal "Henna Black" which is more or less indigo with some other stuff; I'm going to try a test lump of hair for the heck of it; however, a couple of people with lighter hair have experienced a greeny tint with indigo and oh, I don't want to go there... Anyway, back to your question: I did 2 strands on my head with my 2 favourite mixes after doing harvested hair, and they did look different "on". So I would definitely go for it if I were you and see what comes out. You will be hennaing over it anyway. Although the funny thing is you can still see one of my test strands if you look closely. It came out a much more fiery red than what I ended up using so it shows but only to me cause I know where it is! Can't wait to hear how you get on! Oh and Tara, very much OT, but I had a question...you're the person who makes soaps right? I recently got some unrefined shea butter and its absolutely gorgeous on my skin and hair. However, try as I might, I can't get past the smell. At first I didn't mind it, but I seem to be getting sensitised to it and now as soon as I go to use it, YUCK! Any ideas on how to fragrance shea butter (don't necessarily want to add EO's as I don't really need their therapeutic effects in this. Thanks, Tara!
