Yup, tis IPosted by Tara on May 14, 2004 at 19:23:40: In reply to: Re: I'll soon be taking the plunge posted by Diane on May 14, 2004 at 14:58:12: :: Oh and Tara, very much OT, but I had a question...you're the person : who makes soaps right? I recently got some unrefined shea butter and : its absolutely gorgeous on my skin and hair. However, try as I : might, I can't get past the smell. At first I didn't mind it, but I : seem to be getting sensitised to it and now as soon as I go to use : it, YUCK! Any ideas on how to fragrance shea butter (don't : necessarily want to add EO's as I don't really need their therapeutic : effects in this. Thanks, Tara! I don't have a lot of experience with shea. I've made one batch of lotion and one batch of soap with it. Both have added fragrance oils. Note: fragrance, not essential. So if ya just want smell but not worried about any other properties...you can snag some FOs at several places online. The shea I have is NOT the unrefined version, I've not noticed a terrible smell. Perhaps another oil as suggested. Or I'm thinking an herbal infused oil could do the trick. Infuse some rosemary, chamomile or calendula in your oil of choice and whip that up w/your shea. Worth a try eh? ~Tara~
