Funny thing: at the last minute, I groundup some coffee beans and added it to the clove and red wine mixture... Don't ask me why I added coffee beans to the wine... those are just my two favorite beverages. Anyhow, even though I THOUGHT that I ground the coffee beans fine, the henna mixture totally clumped around the particles, making washing it out a 30 minute process. But thanks to the great advice of this page, I used up a bottle of conditioner and the coffee/henna clumps came out. Too early to tell results, but kinda chestnut/ mahagony from a reddish dark brown base (I hennaed for the first time 6 weeks ago). Also, my friend put the henna on in reverse, starting from the top down, to get a few pesky grey roots. While it was time-consuming and a pain for her, I think it worked. Yay!!!
