I had dyed my hair 3 months earlier and there was definitely still some dye in my hair, which is to the middle of my back. The red family of commercial hair dyes tend to fade fastest because their molecules are larger than the other colors of dye. BUT I honestly believe you'd be best off doing a strand test. What I did was choose a curl that was still on my head and strand tested it rather than cut one off or harvest from a hairbrush (I have corkscrew curls, so I don't ever brush my hair). Before you buy anything to remove the dye from your hair do a test. You may be perfectly safe henna-ing as you are, but it's not something you want to try unless you know you're going to be okay or unless you're someone who won't care if your hair ends up with such bad breakage you need to get a crew cut or turns swamp green. Step one is to do a strand test - step two depends on how the strand test turns out.
