I bet its a bit of both. The hair more exposed to the elements is
always a different colour even naturally. Plus, hair does grow at
different rates all over your head. My hair is bizarre, certain spots
never seem to grow and it grows long quite easily in other places.
Whenever I am trying to let my hair grow out and go for a couple of
months between trims, the hairdresser always thinks I have been
cutting it myself (read BADLY lol) because it grows out so unevenly.
