I think you've got something with PPD. Yes, I've seen boxes marked
henna that were PPD laden! One whole row of them brand after brand,
in a shop in London, all foreign export, from India and elsewhere,
with Urdu and Arabic scripts ......... all marked henna .... all full
of PPD. There is a "black mehndi" at a shop across town, and the owner
insists it is "pure henna!" I pointed to the words on the box that
said "Para-phenelynediamine". He just shrugged and said he uses it to
dye his moustache black, and because it said Mehndi and was from India
and it is therefore pure and natural. He runs a restraunt next door.
Makes me uneasy about the papadum.

Henna and indigo will cover gray but it takes persistance. so that
doesn't sound right. Hair loss ...... itching ...... sounds like PPD
to me. If you can get a sample to me I can microscope it!
