Using Henna and/or Indigo on BLONDE hair?

I have naturally medium blonde hair and I would love to go dark
auburn, is this possible? I really don't want full-on red hair
though. And what do you think would happen if I used indigo on it?
Or used it with henna? I read through most of this site but I'm
still kind of hesitant, I don't want to end up with bright red hair!

Also my hair is very VERY fine and straight, the henna would make it
thicker right?
