I like to freeze my henna in gallon zip-loc bags (buy the good kind,
it's worth it). I fill each bag up about 1/3 full, and then mush
that out so I have a thin layer of henna that fills the bag. Freeze
flat. Very easy to thaw, very quick. Alternately, henna ice-cubes.
I've made them with body henna mixes before, so I don't see why it
wouldn't work for hair henna. Also, that way, you thaw just what you
need.

For the actual thawing part, I set the bag-o-henna on the tv when
it's turned on. Room temp plus the warmth of the tv have the henna
thawed in under half an hour, usually.
