Is one hour enough?

This site is amazing. After reading through old posts, many of my
questions have been answered, but I would like to know this---- is
one hour enough time to leave henna on my hair?

Let me explain. I found a salon that specializes in natural
products who rinses the henna out for me (I mix and apply it at home-
-stays on my dark brown locks overnight). They informed me that
when they apply the henna in the shop they leave it on for about an
hour (or less). I am not sure this would be enough time to get the
results I want/am accostomed to (shiny, strong, slightly reddish,
looser curled hair). What do you all think? Does the time you
leave the henna on your hair only affect the color outcome?
