Some help in tweaking my henna....?

Okay, I followed the instructions for Fia's gel mix when I henna'ed
my hair on Saturday, but I didn't get the results I was hoping
for... I mixed up Catherine's henna and left it on for 3 hours (same
as my strand test) but my greys didn't all take the color and the
rest of my hair didn't color evenly.

Should I have waited for dye release even though Fia's directions
didn't specifically include that wait-time? Any chance a re-
application of the henna will help ease the discrepancy between my
commercially-dyed auburn hair and the darker, browner roots that are
coming in? Do I just need to leave it on longer? Suggestions,
advice, and sarcastic comments welcome! :-)
