metal during preparation?

Before discovering this great site, I bought Light Mountain brand
henna. The ingredient lists henna, indigo and cassia and promises
it contains only botanicals. But there is strict instruction to not
use metal of any kind, such as a spoon or pot, during the
preparation of henna. It even recommends removing earrings. I have
been browsing over this site pretty completely for several days and
haven't seen any info that suggests using metal would be bad. Is
this just a liability thing for the Light Mountain company incase
someone has previously dyed with a synthetic? Is it possible there
are unlisted additives, or are they a reputable source for henna?
