: Hey, those who remember me, I'm back. I still haven't ordered any
: henna or indigo to try yet, I think I will but I have one more
: question. If I use henna first and then indigo on my dark blonde
: hair (or mix the henna and indigo together?), do you think it would
: turn it black or at least dark brown?
dark brown, more likely. it may get to black if you apply it a zillion
times and leave it on for very long.

: If not, what's the WORST that
: could happen? Would the indigo turn it some funky off-the-wall
: color?
I have dark blonde hair, have experimented with indigo over henna, and
it does give me a greenish-gray cast. luckily for me my hair won't
hold on to indigo, so it washes out within a week.

I figure that it will always be possible to go over it with just henna
if it turns out too blue/green/gray, but it will get darker then, of
course.

: I decided I want a dark brown or black result if I'm going
to
: do this at all (although I don't mind if it has a reddish tint to
: it). What do you guys think?
just try it out on a test strand. if you don't mind ending up with
black or reddish dark brown, not much can go wrong.

: Also, if you DO think this is
: possible, please give me tips on what else to add, if I should mix
: them together, etc.
if I understand correctly henna usually takes longer to release dye
than indigo, so if you mix them together you may get dye release from
the indigo but not from the henna, or dye release from the henna but
indigo already oxidizing? in any case it will be easier to control the
final outcome if you do them seperately, I would think.

good luck,
iris
