However if you use a chemical straightener (lye-based, no-lye, perm solution etc.) then you have a risk that the henna will react with the chemical used. For hair texture I'm the wrong person to ask, as my hair is the exact opposite of yours - stick straight with very fine strands. On my hair henna provides some extra volume, which is a positive thing for me. I believe this is what most people experience. I also believe I have read that for some curlies the curl pattern is a little relaxed by henna and thus easier to manage. This is only hearsay though. /Fia
