Freezing Henna

How long can you freeze henna, and still get a good stain when it thaws?
Is there a time limit? I just hennaed my hair for the first time, and I
bought WAY too much. Actually, most of the mix is left over. I'm
wondering because it would kind of be a waste to just throw it away, but
I'd like to have a really dramatic color.

Also, how long does it take for henna to fade or for roots to start to
show.
