double process method?

Hi it's been years since I hennaed my hair and I have a little grey in
my light goldeny brown hair. I have been looking at some of those
double process henna packs from places like Light Mountain. I'm just
wondering if anyone has used them and how good they are. I ordered a
light brown kit. It's probably heresy as it seems as if everyone here
is using the pure straight henna with their own additives. I used it
once when I was a lot younger and the results were v. bad, orange hair
which with my melanin challenged skin made me look like coco the clown
on a bad day. I also notice that rainbow henna does a light brown that
claims to cover grey. I know you need a certain amount of balls to do
this, but can anyone help out a nervous nelly!?
