Hi Charlotte!
Yes, lemon juice, or anything acidic, will boost your colour. As for
shampoo, you can use most anything, henna doesn't fade like chemical
dyes do. I found a shampoo called Bio-Amla at the Indian grocery
where I buy henna, and within 3 washings, my hair was so soft, I
don't need conditioner...I think it's the henna and the amla
combination that does it.

: I have been henna-ing my hair for over a year now and loving it!:)
My
: question is...(1)Does adding the lemon juice make the color in
henna
: brighter? or what? I mix auburn and red (Light Mountain) together
and
: get great results but wonder if also the lemon juice makes it
: brighter as I asked. (2) What is the best shampoo on the market
for
: washing hennaed hair? I use tresama. (I want the color to stay in
: longer.) Thanks..hope I dont sound scrambled. :)
