Baking Soda and Henna

I live in a place (Missoula, MT) where the water is very hard, consequently my hair gets
heavy with mineral buildup. Every two weeks or so, I add baking soda to my shampoo
to clarify (this works great and is far less expensive than fancy clarifying shampoo).
I've just hennaed my hair (oooh, so lovely) and wonder - will the baking soda react
oddly or cause a problem for the henna?
