Every two weeks or so, I add baking soda to my shampoo : to clarify (this works great and is far less expensive than fancy clarifying shampoo). : I've just hennaed my hair (oooh, so lovely) and wonder - will the baking soda react : oddly or cause a problem for the henna? I used to use baking soda periodically as well, and also found it good; however I gave it up when I started using henna on my hair, just in case the acid/base thing would backfire on me. I don't know whether there is any real basis for concern, but I decided not to chance it. A vinegar rinse (about 2 tbsp to a litre of water) or the juice of a lemon mixed with an equal amount of conditioner also works a treat.
