Itoo, yearned for stick straight silky hair all during my teen years. When I finally gave up and let my hair do what it wanted I got lots of compliments and people asking me where I got the fantastic spiral perm. Since letting it do what it wants, I have no more "bad hair days." I had heard that pregnancy could change hair texture, but I noticed no change at all in my hair before during or after either of my two pregnancies other than my hair being very healthy and resilient during pregnancy both times. It was only recently that my texture changed, and the only thing I can attribute it to is henna, since nothing else (diet, health, hormones, weather, washing regimen, etc.) changed. My texture change now isn't a radical one, but after having tight corkscrew curls all my life (my younger brother used to amuse himself by pulling one of my curls straight and letting go, shouting "boiiiiiiiiing!"), it's noticeable to me. Before, my hair would lose about 6 to 7 inches when it curled. Now it loses about 4.
