I love the color, but have : noticed that the henna seems to have changed the curliness of my : hair. I've had corkscrew curls since I was a toddler (although I can : torture it straight with a blow dryer in very low humidity : conditions) and now my curls seem to be less tightly curled, more : wavy than curly. Are there any other curly girls out there who've : tried henna and found that it's changed their curls, or has anyone : heard of henna changing the texture of curly hair? I have also henna'ed 3 times and am just getting around to doing it again. I have heard about henna loosening the curl and can only assume it happens due to the extra weight and thickening or conditioning effect it seems to have. However, I haven't noticed any change in the curliness in my hair, for which I am very grateful. One of the things that made me hesitate to henna in the first place was the thought that it would straighten my hair; after living with curls all my life now that they're finally appreciated (I grew up in the 70's when stick straight hair was the fashion and it was agony being a teenager with a head full of corkscrews) I REALLY didn't want to lose them. Its the ultimate low-maintanence hair and I wouldn't know what to do with it straight! Fortunately I have yet to notice a difference in the curl, although I love the thick texture with henna (seems to be a temporary phenomenon though) I don't know if either of you has experienced this, but pregnancy certainly straightened my hair more than henna. Its much looser now than it was when I was growing up but still quite curly. If henna starts to straighten me out I'll have to give it a rethink...
