I tried indigo + henna on light blonde hair, and it seems to me
that you have to be very careful about the amounts and the timing.

I first tried just indigo without henna: on white hair that gives baby
blue, of course (very punky). then I hennaed over that a week later,
and it turned grey. a very dark grey. dull colour, not pretty.

I think it should be possible to use more henna over that and end up
with a reddish black or dark brown. but it will take a lot of testing
to get the proportions exactly right. also, you have the problem that
henna does not wash out and indigo does (for most people), so you may
end up with orange hair when the indigo washes out.
