It seems more managable, definately softer and shiny and she loves the color in the sun. What I reccommed doing is start saving your hair from your hair brushes until you get a pile and henna that first. Need a decent pile though or you won't be sure of the color. Let it sit in it for at least 2 hours...that is how long my daughter and I do it, then rinse real well and wash it if you like. let it dry. Then I would take it outside in the sun to get a really good look at it. It will show what color your hair will come out and when dry and shining in the sun you can see all the highlights you will have. From my experience, mixing with something acidic makes it darker and mixing with just hot water makes it reddish orange. I hope this helps you, good luck! Jennifer : I seem to have been faffing round for quite some time over whether : to actually try and use henna on my hair, and everytime I get close : I keep coming up with more perhaps inane questions. My hair is a : rather bright shade of orange, is very thick and coarse, and quite : wavy.I'm growing it out though and it's probably just about equal to : the bottom of my ears. Since it's so thick and dry, I've either been : using ceramic straighterers or a wave-defining cream to make it : manageable, but I realise that either or both of these may react : badly with the henna. : : If so, is the henna likely to make it more manageable/softer anyway : or will it just make it even larger? (unfortunately not something i : can check with a strand test) : : And is the heat from straighteners likely to bring out one of those : nasty green colours? : : ~izumi
