brand quality?

i am planning to go red again with the next year, and instead of
using horrible chemicle dyes that fry my already fine hair...i want
henna!! i have limited funds...or else i would just order a good
quality brand from one of the suppliers at the henna page. our
local shop stocks MDH and another brand (mumtaz???). are either of
these good for dying hair?? i am looking for a rich, dark,
burgundy/auburn/red (not orange!). my hair is a medium ash blonde
right now....any tips/hints/advice?? THANKS!

btw - my hair is currently hot hot pink/purple at the front...so i
will be growing that out before i try the henna!
